August Events at Cornog Plaza

Cornog Plaza at the downtown library offers great events all month long, including:

THIS FRIDAY, MIXIN’ UP BUBBLE WANDS!: the library is mixing up a big batch of bubble solution and creating easy wands out of chenille pipe cleaners, straws and beads!  The fun begins at 10 am at the Cornog Plaza, free to attend.

Game Cart: Monday – Saturday during library hours; show your fun side and let the good times roll with lawn dice & dominoes, try your hand at some 80′s & 90′s board games or a friendly game of chess.

Giant Chess: Monday – Saturday during library hours; available for all ages on the plaza under the shade structure.

Jazz Lunch: Thursdays, August 6 – August 27, 12 pm – 1 pm; enjoy some of Fort Myers’ most exciting jazz musicians who will be performing weekly on this Thursday event.

Want to See a New RDA Website?

While the RDA and the events we produce for the River District continue to grow, so does the need to further enhance making sure you know about them! As the non-profit merchants association within the River District, we strive to use our dollars to create the events you enjoy.

You’ve all seen the limitations with our current site and know it’s past time for a new one. With that, the RDA is currently in development of a new, comprehensive site that will be better geared towards event attendees, merchants, and residents of the River District. The new site will include a host of new features, increased compatibility, and greater user functions. While we look forward to this, we also recognize the cost associated with it. To help in minimizing that and allow us to continue using our resources in creating great events and programs, we have created a Go Fund Me account and would ask any interested followers to consider making a tax-deductible donation to help defray this expense.

Passport Parking

Passport Parking in the River District

As season begins it’s a good time to review the recently implemented Passport Parking program throughout core downtown at all meters.

Guests to downtown who park at meters can download the Passport Parking app or can call 239-790-4675 to register. With this users can pay for parking with their phone or call from the numbered meter and pay via credit card.
Text messages and alerts can be enabled through this app, receipts sent, and guests will be able to extend their metered time from their phone.

Informational rack cards are available at the CRA (1400 Jackson Street) or at Denison Parking (2123 First Street).
